When the chimpanzee gazed out the window
you gazed right back for a long time
You said afterward
she had a very sentimental sadness
just like us
especially in childhood when felt hopeless
for some moments
I saw them before too
when gazing into fox, deer, Fluffy even the squirrels
but perhaps not as deeply touching as the chimp
