那些毫无信仰的人群川流不息，那些充斥着愚昧的城市，
我在永远责备自已（谁又比我更愚昧，更加没有信仰？）
那些徒然渴望光明的眼睛，那些浅陋的目的，那些奋斗周而复始
所有人的那些可怜的结局，我眼见的周围那些人群单调而污秽；
其他人那些空虚无益的年岁，我和其他人也纠缠在一起；
哦，这问题！那么悲哀，那么反反复复 --
生命啊！生活在这一切中有什么意义？
答案：
那就是说你在这里 - 就是说生命存在，还有个体；

在1989年的电影《Dead Poets Society》（死亡诗社）中，Robin Williams 有下列台词：

影评对 Robin Williams 主演的这部电影褒贬不一。贬者常讲这片子煽情、过于理想化、人物简单、对话肤浅。有道理。但是这毕竟是一部中学生电影，而中学生电影没必要非有卡夫卡、加缪的影子。）
