Golden fall breeze, with each soft blow,

Bids phoenix trees, leaf by leaf, shed in a pace slow.

The green wine easily allures my head to spin.

Beside the window, I slumber below.

紫薇朱槿花残。

斜阳却照阑干。

双燕欲归时节，

银屏昨夜微寒。

Crape myrtle and hibiscus turn sallow,

Upon the handrails slants the afterglow.

The silver-etched screen felt the chill last night,

The season summons the return of each swallow.
