Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy(1946 年 8 月 20 日出生)是印度亿万富翁商人。

Infosys founder Narayana Murthy says that India's dream of becoming a global manufacturing hub is 'too audacious'. In an interaction during a tech summit in Bengaluru, Murthy says that 'India is far away from becoming a hub - these are just big words that are used. China has 6x of India's GDP. We were about the same in the mid 70s'. He also praised the Chinese, saying that Chinese are disciplined, they have national pride, they work hard, they don't argue like Indians do.

Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy (born 20 August 1946) is an Indian billionaire businessman. 1967 got bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. In 1969 he received his master's degree. He is one of the seven co-founders of Infosys, and has previously served as the chairman, chief executive officer (CEO), president, and chief mentor of the company before retiring and taking the title chairman emeritus. As of August 2024, his net worth was estimated to be $5.1 billion, making him the 606th richest person in the world according to Forbes, listed among the 12 greatest entrepreneurs of our time by Fortune magazine' was described as the "father of the Indian IT sector" by Time magazine  and CNBC for his contribution to outsourcing in India.

Murthy first worked at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, as chief systems programmer, and Patni Computer Systems in Pune, Maharashtra. He founded Infosys in 1981 and was the CEO from 1981 to 2002, as well as the chairman from 2002 to 2011. In 2011, he stepped down from the board and became the chairman emeritus. In June 2013, Murthy was appointed as the executive chairman for a period of five years.

In a interview; he said that India is still far far far far far away from becoming a hub and all of that these are all big words which we shouldn't use because Chinese are disciplined they have national pride they work hard they don't argue like we do has a GDP of six times that of India we were about the same in the middle 70s I think it is too audacious to say we will be manufacturing Hub and all of that India is still far far far far far away from becoming a hub and all of that these are all big words which we shouldn't use just to give you an idea China produces has already become Factory of the world all of you have traveled abroad you have seen uh youve gone to supermarkets you going to various you know Home Depot and all of that 90% of it is made in China why because Chinese are disciplined they have naal pride they work hard they don't argue like we do all of that so that country has a GDP of six times that of India we were about about the same in the middle 70s today they are six times so therefore I think it is too audacious to say we will become manufacturing Hub and all of that there's also another important reason why that is going to be very difficult and that is unfortunately unlike our business where we depend primarily on exports for example INF phasis 98% it used to be even today I can't see how it is different 98% of the revenue comes from outside India so we hardly depend on India but unfortunately in manufacturing by and large we look at domestic thing and the government plays a very important role in the success of manufacturing unfortunately the response time the transparency the accountability speed excellence in public governance systems in a country like India still has to improve a lot it will improve but it take time therefore unless there is a mechanism whereby you reduce this interface for the benefit of our government and for the benefit of the industry the growth of manufacturing will take time it will not grow at the same level as those uh Industries which depend upon outside India one way for you people to do is to say we too will become Global manufacturing people like China has become and we will export side India and maybe 30% so that we will not feel the the the breaks of our public governance system so I would say that we are still a long way my belief is that the government is working on it the and I hope they will remove most of the bottlenecks
