Hobby show - When I saw this topic, I was like, ha, easy peasy lemon squeezy! Hobbies, I have tons! Ideas quickly generated through my mind. All I need to do is to pick one and brag about it. Consider it, mission complete!
But the ideal is rich, and the reality is bony. Here I am, staring at my screen and I have nothing. What hobby is worth talking about? Reading about? Writing about? Traveling? Sports? Like skiing, weight-lifting, dancing, or yoga? Playing the piano? Oh my god, I have to face the bloody truth: I have nothing that I excel at, and everything is a 3 minute rush! How lame!
After scrambling around a while, I finally decided on something – cooking! Oh, gosh, I have no idea how to start. Such an old cliché, I started cooking when I went abroad, by myself, and have to feed myself something (neither raw, nor poisonous), from easy- to-fix meals, such as a salad and sandwich, to more complicated dishes when I got married and had a kid. This cooking experience naturally evolved from being an amateur cook to becoming a “professional chef” with love. Practice makes excellence, and this is so true. Over time I developed interest in baking. I would hide myself in the kitchen with flour, sugar, chocolate, baking powder, and baking soda. Have fun in my little LaLa land. Small miracles appear - cakes, cookies, and bread, biscotti, brownie etc. Ta-da, here you go, some mouth-watering pics to comfort the craving, oh man, I am hungry!!
