See all the fashion from the Tonys red carpet
Stars have been showing off their red carpet glamour at the theatre awards in New York.
Carey Mulligan and Ruth Wilson were among the British leading ladies taking a break from treading the boards for a night on the red carpet at the Tony Awards, alongside US stars Jennifer Lopez and Elisabeth Moss.
The British hopefuls joined some of Hollywood’s most famous names for the annual celebration of the best of Broadway at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Carey, nominated for her role in Skylight, sported an elegant burgundy coloured strapless column gown with an arched neckline.
Ruth, also named in the leading actress category for Constellations, wore a simple purple short-sleeved, floor-length dress.
Dame Helen Mirren, who won best performance by an actress in a leading role in a play for her depiction of the Queen in The Audience, chose an elegant white gown with a sheer sleeves and cape with silver beading round the waist and neckline.
Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss, competing for the same award for her performance in The Heidi Chronicles, chose a white, fitted gown with bright floral detailing.
Bradley Cooper posed with his mother and sister on the red carpet. His turn in The Elephant Man, which is now packing houses in London, was nominated for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play. The production was also nominated for best revival of a play.
There were plenty of other Hollywood stars to add to the glamour of the event. Jennifer Lopez sported a blue gown with a full skirt and gold beading.
Rose Byrne wore a plunging red dress with a risque zip up the front and ruched shoulder details, and Kendall Jenner mixed it up in a peach minidress with a low-cut back.
