西门子奖的二名全美国家级的Winners：左边为加州湾区的印度裔Ashvin Swaminathan和右边的德州的华裔Lilly Shen。
最近，西门子基金会公布了去年的全美AP考试的西门子奖获得者的名单。AP的满分为5分，西门子奖励最多门AP考试为满分的学生，毎州二名，一名男生，一名女生，奖金为每人二千美元。另外还会选出二名全国性的Winners，奖金为毎人五千美元。这一奖项不是通过申请决定的，而是依据负责AP考试的College Board向西子门基金会提供的学生的AP成绩。
由于西门子为科技公司，设立此奖项的目的是为了鼓励学生学习数理相关的AP课程。西门子奖励的AP考试课目包括：Biology, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science A, Environmental Science, Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Physics C: Mechanics, and Statistics。 大家看到二门AP的物理都包括在内，而二门的微积分或二门的计算机则仅含一门。
至少有二门AP是5分的学生才有资格被考虑，教育发达的加州和纽约应该竞争激烈，然而，蒙他那州是唯一的只有一名学生符合此最低标准的州，还是一位华裔男孩。随使数数，东亚姓氏的学生就占了大约一半。

Regarding your sharp comment, $2,000 scholarship here is only about half of the NMSQ scholarship.
If you look at their names, there were one boy and one girl for each state. But for national winners, it did not act like that for sure.
