Fixing a Bike Inner Tube and a Rain Shoe
1. Fixing a Bike Inner Tube.
A bike inner tube was leaking on air, there is no way to inflate the tire.
Take the inner tube out:
Inflate the inner tube, soak it in water, find a leaking spot:
Use these tools:
The Classic Patch Kit, from Amazon, $4.98:
File the broken part with a file (the red square, the cap of the kit), and cut a patch (the green circle):
Work outdoors, not indoors.
Clean the filed area with alcohol, spread a layer of rubber cement (from the Classic Patch Kit) on the tube (I always wear a gas mask (the smell might be harmful, with this mask I could not smell it at all)):
Peel off the protective plastic film from the cut patch:
Put the patch onto the tube area with cement and press it with hands:
Wait for several minutes, inflate the tube:
Make sure there is no leak any more in water:
Deflate the tube:
Reinsert the inner tube on the wheel:
Inflate the tube, now the bike is standing with the fixed inner tube:
2. Fixing a rain shoe.
The cut was done by my sickle when I was cutting wild grass. Ironically, the brand new shoes were $5 several years ago, now the Classic Patch Kit is $5 too:
