1.      放弃书表报名方法，选用ECFMG网上报名

2.      进入www.ecfmg.org 的IWA页面，申请自己的USMLE/ECFMG身份号码；数小时至5个工作日内你就会收到你的八位数字的身份号码（ID）和临时密码(Password),分两个电子邮件发送。身份号码是你在USMLE/ECFMG系统中基本上唯一的特征代码（加上生日），所以应安全保存；另一方面你必须在第一次使用临时密码时重新选择你的新密码，因为你不能用临时密码再次登入。

3.      如果在申请ID中遇到问题, 最好的办法是打电话寻问，除此之外，很难解决。

4.      得到ID和密码后，进入页面回答有关安全问题，以免你忘记了你的密码;

5.      在IWA页面完成申请表，依据你的实际情况填写;

6.      信用卡或支票（需填写Form-900）付款

7.      最后，完成申请后应打印出Form-183（或Form-186）然后将你的护照标准照片粘上，（照片背面须写上你的ID号和姓名）按要求签名盖章, 寄送地址见本章文中。
