Saturday
(1) Ran 10 miles with friends at Bush Park on Saturday morning, average pace 8:25 for the 1st 5-mile and 8:05 for the 2nd 5-mile. I was trying to learn the running art of negative split. I only ran twice previously (2 miles and 4 miles each) since Boston Marathon over one month ago. It was wonderful to see my running friends and to run with them again.
(2) Had dinner with other 4 couples at one of friends' house. It was blessing to spend time with friends.
Sunday
(1) Attended Sunday worship at KCCC in the morning. Min stayed late for the treasury duty.
(2) Chatted with loved ones in China, Canada, and California.
(3) Reading and writing
Monday (Memorial Day)
I woke up this morning with the particular thought about our late friend Jim who was in Navy during World War II. Jim served the country during the war time and worked hard after the war. He lived life modestly, but gave generously to his loved ones and to his chosen charities during the lifetime and also left multi-millions of dollars to his family and charities after the death. Yet, he chose to be buried simply with his fellow veterans at one of the National Cemeteries. Thank Jim and all other fallen veterans on this special day.
