My Funny Friend And Me From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "My Funny Friend and Me" is a song composed and sung by Sting for the 2000 animated movie The Emperor's New Groove. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, but lost to Bob Dylan's "Things Have Changed" from the film Wonder Boys). The song illustrates the friendship formed between main characters Kuzco and Pacha through to end of the film from Kuzco's point of view. To date, it is the last song made for a film from the Disney animated features canon to be nominated for Best Original Song. "You'll Be in My Heart" from Tarzan was the most recent Disney canon film to win the award. (However, if Pixar films are considered, If I Didn't Have You, which was composed by Randy Newman and was made for the film Monsters, Inc., won the Oscar the year after). |
