The reason of the conflict information is because of how to count the intake of calcium for your baby, a 2-3 years old toddler need about 500 mg of calcium per day, if the baby could only get calcium from milk, it is about 2 cups of milk, but do remember your baby get calcium from other sources as well, like cheese, yoghurt, custard and cereals, as a lot of studies in US showed, most children under 5 get 70% of their calcium from cows milk, 20% from milk products such as cheese, yoghurt, custard, and 10% from breakfast cereals. So you should know how much your baby need for the milk. It is important that children do not drink so much milk that they won't eat other foods as this is a common cause of health problems (such as iron deficiency anaemia) in toddlers.
The following is a list of sources of calcium:
low fat plain yogurt: 300-450mg per serving (1 cup)

cow's milk (either whole milk or low fat milk): 300mg per serving (1 cup)
calcium fortified soy milk, rice milk, or goat's milk: 300mg per serving (1 cup)
