two interesting long talks by Nick Lane, didn't completely finished listening yet, just a few points before i forget them, Nick communicated his ideas extremely well with grace , i can sense he is open-minded and has a caring heart!
- conciousness is a property that is inheriated and evolved, it is an integrated part of material/all life forms
- life is a gradual /evolved process, not a certain event at some point, what he meant was in my opinion, life is a verb, instead of noun, it is a forward action
- possible AI will replace human in the future, possibly in a combined form
- there is no point to argue on religion and God, as we are not that far apart whether you believe or not, science is also assumption based, similar to religion
- unknown is always there but many things can be explained by science logically in a coherent manner .
- biologically all humans are close to each other, instead of united as a race but we treat each other badly due to different political and world view, a sad truth
- at cell level, there is electrical charges around the membrane , more electrons are outside the thin memebrane than inside, this is similar to how planet earth is... interesting , and cells replicate themselves by having similar patterns, more miniature earth
Very impressive Roche metabolic pathways shared by a friend, i am in awe, many bioscientists are super archievers
