A mother of three young boys drove her kids home from school one day. A pair of worn newborn booties were hanging from the rear mirror.
"Mommy," a child called out from the backseat of the minivan, with his elder brother next to him, and his infant brother in a carseat in the front,
"Yes, honey?" Mom replied.
"Why do you hang the babybooties from the rear mirror?"
"So that they can remind me how precious you all are, then I will not get mad as easily..."
"I think you should take them down."
"Why, bud?"
"I don't think they work."
"I see." Mom looked at the booties, looked at her kids on the backseats, smiled.
"So sorry, honey. I'll try harder."
The little angels knew what to say. Always.
The car moved on. The shoes stayed where they were for quite a few years...
Reminders for sanity.
