It is one of the most popular games on the planet, but the latest release from EA's Fifa franchise has left some fans unhappy.
Players have taken to the firm's support discussion board to complain of the bug to Fifa 18's Career Mode that causes games to crash.
EA Sports activities this week released the first patch after its September launch which should have addressed any teething problems, however gamers were still posting about the issue at the time of publication.
Among the affected users was forum member Bokata, who was the first to publish about the issue.
They suspect that the procedure for transferring players buy fut 18 coins between teams in Profession Mode may be the reason for the issue.
The bug causes the game to crash whenever players try to start a complement newly transferred players in their squad.
Rather than loading the match up, the game gives a mistake message and quits back to the PS4 or Xbox 1 homescreen, or to the desktop for PC users.
One workaround is to use substitute players, rather than the cheap fut 18 coins superstars they added to their squads, but this kills a key component of the game's playability.
Writing upon Sunday, Bokata stated: 'Its clear this is a Fifa bug, the problem is not in my PS4.
