狄更斯的“双城记”指的是法国和英国，故事发生在法国推翻贵族的法国大革命时期， 两个男人爱上同一个女人，这两个男人一个是英国律师， 一个是法国贵族后裔， 英国律师为成全另他恋人的爱而心甘情愿为他的情敌冒名顶替的走向断头台，成为替死鬼。
