Taylor Swift reportedly boots model from 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
Did Taylor Swift really get a model kicked out of the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show? According to several rumors, the singer got Jessica Hart kicked out of this year’s show after the model made comments about her last year, according to a Dec. 3 report from the New York Daily News.
Swift performed at the annual lingerie show last year and this year. After last year’s performance, Hart made some questionable comments about the singer’s looks.
Hart was asked if Swift could be a Victoria's Secret Angel. She replied, “God bless her [Taylor Swift’s] heart. I think she’s great. But I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that.”
Clearly she shouldn’t have said that. Hart wasn’t seen on the runway at this year’s show. The Daily News is reporting that Swift wouldn’t perform unless Hart wasn’t in the show. If it's true, it sounds like Swift is having her own diva moment.
An insider said, "It’s not been announced that Jessica is not walking, but it was a direct request from Taylor that this be the case if she were to go." The insider added, "No one can know that Taylor requested Ms. Hart not be in the show. They want to keep that under wraps, but that’s the facts."
Hart did apologize for the comment she made about Swift. She later told Vogue Australia, “It was taken out of context, but I have certainly learnt my lesson.” She obviously regrets the comments she made about Swift.
The model didn’t receive any more Victoria’s Secret assignments since making the comments about the singer. However, her contract with the brand’s Body by Victoria line continued. She was featured in one of the controversial ads earlier this year. Hart is also reportedly still working with the lingerie giant.
According to Victoria’s Secret chief marketing officer Ed Razek, the rumors aren’t true. Razek told Confidential, “There is no truth to the rumors that Jessica Hart has been fired or that she will no longer work with the brand. As you will see, she was a great part of our show and we look forward to continuing to work with her. We at Victoria’s Secret and all those involved, including Jessica Hart, were thrilled to have Taylor be a part of the show. We look forward to sharing her performances next week during the television special.”
Razek has been telling the same story to all of the media outlets, so he's clearly sticking with it. Besides Taylor Swift’s backstage diva demands, there were other behind-the-scenes drama for the Angels. When the 50 models landed at Standsted Airport in the U.K., they waited three hours to get through customs due to issues with paperwork. Well-known models like Karlie Kloss, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio were assigned front seats, while the lesser-known models had to sit in the back of the plane.
