88th Academy Awards Winner-Leonardo
The 88th Academy Award Ceremony was held on the last Sunday night. No matter how brilliant the actors and actresses looked like, I only focused on Leonardo, the Best Actor winner for the 'Revenant'. I knew him from the 'Titanic' movie. Actually, from very beginning he was not my favorite's actor because he gave me the impression of a boy instead of a man.
For the last 22 years, he was struggling to pursue the reward and has been nominated for six Academy Awards—five for acting and one for producing, but he did not obtain the award. So far, I still remembered he was tearing when he failed to get the award on the 87th Academy Award Ceremony. However he did not give up his pursuit, he dried his tears and continue to do hard work on the career he loved. Finally, he was the winner for the 'Revenant' which was the product of the tireless efforts of an unbelievable cast and crew.
Just like Joel Osteen said, 'Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.'
In addition to acting, Leonardo is also a committed environmentalist. His speech not only mentioned the ton of thanks but also reminded to 'support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people out there who would be most affected by this. For our children’s children, and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed. '
Now, he is mature enough to be a real man. His speech inspired the people in that room so that all of them stood and applauded. 'The Revenant' was about man's relationship to the natural world. He built the same relationship with audiences in the entire world.
