HAMILTON, Ont. Wholesale Authentic Jerseys . -- The Toronto Marlies took to the outdoor ice at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Saturday with child-like enthusiasm. Toronto scored three times in the first period and never looked back in a 7-2 rout of the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey Leagues Outdoor Classic. "It was great fun to watch our guys be so excited before the game," said Marlies coach Dallas Eakins. "They were like little kids, amped up. And then when they saw that the place was full, they were really excited." Greg Scott scored twice for Toronto (22-15-5), while Nicolas Deschamps added a goal and two assists. Mike Zigomanis had a goal and an assist and Drew Paris, Marcel Mueller and Joe Colborne also scored for the Marlies, who got 19 saves from Ben Scrivens. Jerry DAmigo added three assists. Dany Masse and Louis Leblanc replied for Hamilton (18-17-5). Nathan Lawson stopped 20 shots for the Bulldogs. The ice was fast but repairs during the second period slowed the pace of the game played under sunny skies with a temperature of -4 C. Masse gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead just 27 seconds into the first thanks to a solid Bulldogs forecheck. Torontos Kelsey Wilson and Hamiltons Zack FitzGerald fought right after Masses opening goal. "Its a spectacle out here," said Toronto centre Colborne. "(Wilsons) fight really got us into the game." Zigomanis tied it 5:26 into the first, redirecting a shot between Lawsons legs and Scott made it 2-1 Toronto at 8:19, roofing a shot in close off a feed from DAmigo. Paris then gave the Marlies a two-goal edge at 12:02 with a wrist shot from just inside the Hamilton blue-line. "When you can answer like that it shows a lot of character on the bench and really set us up for the rest of the game," Colbourne said of the early response. The crowd of 20,565 at the home of the CFLs Hamilton Tiger-Cats was treated to a physical opening period. The Marlies Korbinian Holzer went toe-to-toe with the Bulldogs Aaron Palushaj with just over six minutes to go in the period. Palushaj, an unlikely fighter, took a cross check to the back while heading to the bench well behind the play. "Enough is enough with their players cheap-shotting. Its been happening the last couple games," Palushaj said. "I wanted to get the team going and just wanted to stand up for myself." Mueller made it 4-1 at the 8:33 mark of the second with an unassisted goal that beat Lawson blocker side. Leblanc, who was recently sent down to the minors by the Montreal Canadiens, got one back for Hamilton at 10:08 on a nice individual effort. He said the goal was bittersweet. "Its a tough loss for us," Leblanc said. "I think the rivalry just went up a notch again." Toronto stifled any chance of a Hamilton comeback in the third before pouring it on late with goals from Colborne, Deschamps and Scott in the final four minutes to put an exclamation point on the Marlies outdoor victory. "Our focus on the game was somewhere else," said Hamilton coach Clem Jodoin. "It was a game of distraction." The outdoor ice played havoc on Lawson in the Bulldogs net. "It was really tough," Lawson said. "If guys would pull the puck in it would go right into their own shadow... it was challenging." Fans largely braved the cold until the end of the lopsided win, watching an Ontario rivalry that still has seven games left in the regular season. "Its building up and building up. Thats why you call it a rivalry: an over-the-bridge-Steeltown-rivalry," said Toronto assistant coach Derek King. "Guys were frustrated at the end, " Leblanc added. "We dont like them and Im sure they dont like us." Palushaj agreed: "They got this one under the big stage. But as tough as it was to make plays out there and actually play the game of hockey, it was still a pretty fun event." Notes: Tempers flared after Toronto made it 7-2, with the Bulldogs Ian Schultz and the Marlies Kyle Neuber dropping the gloves. Schultz tried to continue the fight after leaving the ice, waiting for Neuber at the end of the outdoor ice before he was sent off. ... Hamilton leads the season series 3-2. DETROIT -- The banged-up Pittsburgh Penguins took another hit. They just hope its not a big one. Evgeni Malkin had a goal and two assists before hurting his left leg early in the third period of Pittsburghs 4-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. "He was walking around after the game," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said. Malkin was in fact walking, but with a noticeable limp. He got tangled up with Detroits Luke Glendening, lost his balance and his left skate took the brunt of a collision with the boards behind Pittsburghs net. Malkin slowly got up and kept his left skate in the air as he was helped off the ice. He was called for holding on the play, but couldnt serve the penalty because he was being evaluated. Malkin moved past the 600-point mark for his career during the game and ranks among league leaders with 41 points this season. NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby scored two goals to help the Penguins win without standout defenceman Kris Letang, who was a late scratch because of an upper-body injury. "Losing Kris before the game was tough," Crosby said. "We stuck with it and found a way." Pittsburgh defenceman Brooks Orpik hasnt played since being punched Dec. 7 by Bostons Shawn Thornton, who was suspended by the league for 15 games on Saturday. The Penguins might lose another player from their blue line because the NHL is trying to crack down on blows above the shoulders. Defenceman Deryk Engelland put himself in danger of being suspended for an illegal hit to the head. Engelland landed his right shoulder high on Detroit forward Justin Abdelkader late in the first period and was ejected with a match penalty. Abdelkader struggled to get up, had to be helped off the ice and didnt return. "He dumps it in and I try to finish my check," Engelland said. "Obviously Im not trying to hit him in the head or anything like that, but I think I catch his chin a little bit before his body." Detroit defenceman Brendan Smith was suspended for five games two years ago for a similar hit. "I know what it feels like beccause Ive been in that position," Smith said.Cheap Jerseys From China. "Its a quick game, things happen." Pittsburghs Jeff Zatkoff made 28 saves, getting the start in part because he was playing near his hometown of Sterling Heights, Mich. "He was pretty pumped up about playing back here at Joe Louis against the Red Wings," Bylsma said. "He was strong." Jonas Gustavsson gave up three goals on 13 shots through two periods, playing in place of injured starter Jimmy Howard, and finished with 21 saves. "When you let four goals in its tough to win," he said. "I got to be better." The Red Wings got off to a good start. They went ahead 1-0 at 6:09 of the first period when Niklas Kronwalls shot just inside the blue line went off Crosbys stick, bounced off the ice and got past Zatkoff. The lead didnt last long. Detroit went to the penalty box twice midway through the first period and the NHLs top team on the power play took advantage. Crosby scored at 9:08 of the first and Malkin made it 2-1 at the 12:50 mark of the period. The Red Wings outshot Pittsburgh 14-4 in the second, which started with them on the power play for four-plus minutes because of Engellands penalty, but didnt score. "We didnt do enough with it," Detroit coach Mike Babcock said. "We had some looks. Their guy made some saves, but we were perimeter on the power play. Power play is establishing a net-front presence, shooting the puck and getting it back and outworking them to get retrievals and be on top of them." Olli Maatta gave Pittsburgh a two-goal lead in the final minute of the second period. Crosby, who started the night with an NHL-high 44 points, scored his second goal with five-plus minutes left. "We started well on the power play and then were able to shut them down on the five-minute power play," Crosby said. "That was an important part of the game."
