A crab with a Michelin star
This Michelin-starred restaurant in the touristy Samcheongdong area is renowned for one thing - Ganjang Gejang - raw crab in soy sauce marinade. The restaurant is small and crammed, but the crab more than earned that star. It's a visual sensation with the glistening, bright orange roe and translucent, jelly-like meat. The marinade is sweet and savory, and the crab has great umami flavor. Other items on the menu, impressive as they are, become irrelevant in the presence of this crab.
Set menu for one crab, with limited side dishes, starts at about 40 US dollars.
After the meal, take a leisurely stroll down the tree-lined street to a quaint cafe for some delicious souffle pancakes.
