Arising from the Punk movement of the 70s and Anarchism.
'You know its not unlike the politicians and the leaders
When they do things by half'
The underlying reason (can't find the famous quote) - the desire to be a politician invalidates the individual as 'leader' (hate the word - 'leader'). People can develop one another - can teach one another - but the legitimacy (term used along the lines of natural science's justice (as in what is right)? rather than legal system (as in what maintains a hierarchical establishment structure)) of 'leader' is zero.

The Stranglers' "Always the Sun" is often considered one of their greatest tracks and a beautiful rock song, celebrated across generations for several reasons:
-
Timelessness and Emotional Impact: The song captures a sense of nostalgia, reminding listeners of youth and eternal memories. Many people associate the song with moments of personal significance, making it a powerful connection to past experiences. Phrases like "Quel souvenir de notre jeunesse" and "Enorme souvenir de notre jeunesse éternelle" emphasize its long-lasting emotional resonance.
-
Lyrical Depth: The lyrics poetically reflect on life's uncertainties and challenges while invoking the imagery of the sun, which represents hope, constancy, and a guiding force. The sun becomes a metaphor for something enduring and uplifting, offering listeners comfort amidst chaos.
-
Melodic Brilliance: Musically, the song's structure is gentle yet powerful, with its smooth guitar riffs and the synthesizer's atmospheric presence creating a dreamlike quality. The balance between the upbeat rhythm and melancholic undertones speaks to the emotional complexity that makes this song memorable.
-
Cultural Impact: Released in the 1980s, "Always the Sun" became a defining track of that era and continues to be admired by fans of all ages. As mentioned by one fan, it was "the first Stranglers song I ever learned to play on guitar," which speaks to its influence on musicians and rock enthusiasts alike.
In short, "Always the Sun" resonates for its emotional universality, poetic depth, and memorable melody, securing its place as one of the most beautiful rock songs ever made.
