Designed to take the pressure off the overcrowded , the new site south of the city will be able to handle 72 million passengers a year by 2025, and 100 million by 2040.

Beijing’s New Airport Is Completed, opening in September. Built at the cost of ~$13bn, the new airport to handle 72mn passengers by 2022 & 100mn by 2040.
