Going back to school after a long break
I had been in school for 26 years when I graduated 3 years ago. I could not believe that! 26 years in school! When I got my PhD, I swore to myself no more school!
After I stayed at home for 3 years to raise a family, I now have a huge gap in my resume and can’t fix the hole without new skills and knowledge. Though I am unwilling to spend more time in school, I registered for classes again to improve myself with learning English and other new skills and knowledge in my specific field.
I cherish the opportunities I have in class a lot more than before. I am more active in class by joining the discussion and asking more questions. I used to be invisible in the classroom although I did well on exams. I interact with my classmates more in order to make connections which are invaluable in job hunting.
I am classrooms again. Learning is a life-long journey. There is no end to learning anything new and useful.
