Mike Honda introduction to Cupertino rotary club
40 days ago, I visited Mike's office in DC and stood on the House floor to watch and listen his speech on HR 683, a bill passed by both senate and house to express our government regret for Chinese exclusion laws made in 1882, the only law in US history to single out one ethnical group to discriminate.
On the floor, only Judy Chu and Mike delivered the speech before the vote and now we expect president to sign the bill anytime.
During world war 2, Mike has been in concentration camp in Coronado so he takes the social justice and fairness to all as the most fundamental right to every U.S. citizen.
Mike gains his reputation in silicon valley by his hard working plus political intelligence. He is mentor for many elected officials and voice our concerns in DC to represent the technology and innovation.
As program chair, I sent him 4 questions a few days ago to ask him to tell us his wonderful life in the capital hill, I expect he will give us a joyful lecture of his life and share his thoughts on many critical issues we have to face and make our own judgement.
Let us welcome congress member, Mike Honda.
