Ruru just came back from her 15th month check up with her daddy andhere are some informations regarding to the extra vaccines for babiestravel to China:
HepA (Hepatitis A)甲肝 : ruru got a shot.
Japanese encephalitis B:乙脑 : The doc said it is a very painful vaccine, and 3 shots are needed. Unless you are travelling to rural areas for along time,it is not necessary. (apparently, going to Beijing for a week+ stay in a small village for 2 weeks doesn't count for a long time forour PD). ruru didn't get any shots.
Meninggococcal 流脑 : baby needs to be 2 years old for this one.
In September, when we go for her 18th month checkup, she will be given a dose of oral Malaria (
瘧疾, then when we arrive in China in October, another dose (oral ), then when get back back, another one.
If travel in flu season, the yearly flu shots are advised. ruru gothers last year. Since she was less than 1 year old at that time, theshots were given in two 1/2 doses, a month apart.
I am still worried about 乙脑 though, after hearing the recentunfortunate case of the little boy Ronald. however I don't want my babyto suffer the pain neither is the doctor is really sure about it. I'lltry to find out if there is more information about Ronald's case.
ruru is measured to be 31 3/4 inches high (doubt it, I measured a fewdays ago at home and she was 30.5 inches). They again, like last time, can't get her weight because ruru won't sit on the scale; head is 18.5inches. She is just falling off the charts all the time, born at 97%hight and weight, now is just about average. :-(
Her temper is getting bigger each day though. According to her daddy, she threw her dress to the door when the nurse left after the shots, asif to commend her daddy: This is enough1 dress me up and bring me home!
