The Cranberries受到人們喜愛與女主音Dolores是分不開的. 她出身於一個天主教家庭，三歲起就開始唱歌, 因此練就了一副天使般的嗓子, 尤其是她獨特的咽音發聲, 更是受到後來的一些女歌手相繼的模仿(比如王菲)。

該樂隊為九十年代最成功的搖滾樂隊之一，單獨在美國已銷售超過1450萬的專輯。在Billboard200圖表, 該樂隊還已經實現四個前20名的音樂排行專輯。




The Cranberries rose to international fame in the 1990s with their debut album, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?, which became a high commercial success and sold over five million copies in the United States. The group was one of the most successful rock acts of the '90s and sold over 14.5 million albums in the United States alone. The band has achieved four top 20 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?; No Need To Argue; To the Faithful Departed and Bury the Hatchet) and eight top 20 singles on the Modern Rock Tracks chart ("Linger", "Dreams", "Zombie", "Ode to My Family", "Ridiculous Thoughts, "Salvation", "Free To Decide" and "Promises"). On hiatus from 2003 until reuniting in 2009.
