Wags for Wishes began in 2003 and is a festival and doggie extravaganza for the whole family! This is one of the largest and most comprehensive dog shows on the West Coast. Wags for Wishes expects hundreds of dogs to compete in a variety of events, including the fan-favorite splash dogs, plus field lure coursing, agility trials, disc dogs and more. This event is open to the public and open to all-breeds. Proceeds of the San Diego Wags for Wishes will benefit the San Diego Make a Wish foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego is a non-profit organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since their inception in 1983, they have granted more than 2,300 wishes to children in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Lure coursing is one of the most exciting sports you can participate in with your dogs. Lure coursing is a chase sport done in a large open area in which the dogs chase a pretend bunny lure (in this case, a plastic grocery bag) that is tied to a nylon line and run around a series of pulleys at high speed over a grass or dirt field. The line is run by a machine (either reversible or single direction), and the dog chases the lure. It is one of the easiest and most fun things you can do with your dog and requires no training.

Disc Dogs turns playing fetch with a frisbee into a sport with grace, athleticism and style in choreographed routines set to music. The Disc Dogs seem to float in the air, do back flips and sometimes leap over their owners in pursuit of the elusive platter.
