Just read your receipe for pig feet with fresh ginger before going to bed. Is jj Cantonese? I knew how to cook this one. The very few things I learned well when I started cooking. Just want to tell jj a funy story--
When I was in school, I lived on campus, two door down, a young Chinese couple, the girl was my good friend. She saw me cooking sweet pig and ginger stew all the time, and it smelled so nice. So she asked me what it is. I told her it was traditional Cantonese remedy helping the women to recover after giving birth. She tased it and decided to make it herself. I told her she can cook a lot and put in the fregie, take a bowel every day. It will give women good complexion. I also told her because there are a lot of Chinese herbs in there it will boost a woman's vitality and energy level. She did as I said. But a month later, she came to me with a long face, complainted that now she got pregant!!!
She said she did nothing out of ordinary but eat the recomanded "Zu Jiao Jiang" from me. She did not want to get pregant at the TIME AT ALL! Of course, she had to put off her graduation date. She remembered my "crime" ever since. A few years later, she told the story to another friend of her, guess what "The 38 year old woman tried so hard to have baby but never succeeded but now she got pregant!!!" my friend wrote to me in an email with joys!!!
