16. Qi Gong for flu A Stand in a relaxed way, spread your feet some tens of centimeters, so your shoulders and feet form an imaginary vertical line and let your arms with palms inward hang loosely along your body. Close the eyes and keep them closed during the whole session. Imagine that you are standing on a mountain top in the Himalayas with above you a clear blue sky and under your feet the glittering snow. 2. Slowly bring your arms up forwards from the basic position with the fingers turned upwards. The fingers are spread some millimeters and the fingertips are slightly bent towards the palms. Bring your hands to your forehead at the level of the hairline and from this position start to strongly massage your head. Press firmly with your fingertips on the scalp and also move the fingertips somewhat backwards and forwards. Move the fingertips in small massage steps in even distances centimeter by centimeter slowly towards the back of your head. In this way for two minutes give yourself a firm massage from the forehead to the back of the head and back. Return to the basic position and relax for a minute. Focus your attention on the energy in your palms. Bring your arms up sideways until the hands are level with the navel, make fists and bring them together in front of the body and rub the fingers of the fists against each other. Do this ten times in summer and twenty times in winter. Slowly bring your arms to your back, put the back of your hands against the back at the level of the kidneys and make circling movements with your eyes. Move your eyes twelve times in a circle clockwise and twelve times against the clock. Return to the basic position and relax a minute, concentrating on the energy in your palms. From the basic position bring your arms sideways up to shoulder level. Turn your palms up with fingers close together. Inhale strongly and at the same time bring your arms up in half a circle until the fingertips touch each other above your head. E Bring your arms from the basic position, with palms down, slowly up sideways to the level of your shoulders, turn your palms up and bring the arms up further until both palms nearly meet above the head in a half circle. Bring your hands down in this position to shoulder level, with the palms still almost touching. From your pulses turn one hand towards the body and the other away from the body, keeping your elbows at shoulder level. Move the hands from this position simultaneously at a very high speed 108 times back and forth. Bring your hands to your back, put the palms of your hands against your back at the level of the kidneys and focus your attention for two minutes on the energy in your palms. Rub with the thumbs of your fists along the nostrils, one from the bottom up and the other simultaneously from top to bottom. Do this up and down, ten times in summer and twenty times in winter. Return to the basic position, relax a minute and focus your attention on the energy in your palms. Against flu extracts of the following herbal mixtures are helpful, cooked for half an hour in two liters of water: In spring: schizonepeta tenuifolia (16 gram) saposhnikovia divaricata (16 gram) forsythia suspensa (12 gram) taraxacum mongolicum (12 gram) coixlachrymajobi (30 gram) In summer: schizonepeta tenuifolia (16 gram) saposhnikovia divaricata (16 gram) pueraria lobata (12 gram) phaseolus radiatus (12 gram) mentha hapiocalyx (12 gram) chamomile (12 gram) In autumn: schizonepeta tenuifolia (16 gram) saposhnikovia divaricata (16 gram) coixlachrymajobi (30 gram) In winter: schizonepeta tenuifolia (16 gram) saposhnikovia divaricata (16 gram) stephania tetrandra (16 gram) angelica pubescens (12 gram) foeniculum vulgare (12 gram) Qi Gong for stomach-ache From the basic position, with the palms turned down, slowly move your arms sideways up to shoulder level. Bring your hands together in front of your body until the fingers touch each other and let them slide down slowly. Put your crossed hands against your stomach, right under your ribs. With hands crossed make a circling movement around your stomach, 108 times clockwise and 108 times against the clock. Return to the basic position, relax a minute and focus your attention on the energy in your palms. Strongly exhale through your mouth, while bending your upper body forward as if you are spitting something out. At the same time let the arms fall down limply.
