What feelings do you experience at performance review time? Many employees are anxious, nervous and apprehensive because they don't know what rating to expect from their managers. In fact, employees have tremendous influence over their performance reviews. By implementing the following steps throughout the year, you will be able to measure your own performance and suggest to your manager the rating you deserve: Agree on your goals, responsibilities and actions with your manager at the beginning of the year. Identify the skills, knowledge and experiences you need to be successful in meeting these expectations. Monthly, ask your manager how well you are meeting your goals and what you need to improve. Keep track of your activities, results and achievements throughout the year.
