now you learn your lesson the hard way: don't cram, esp. e-filing! anything could happen. who knows!
this "pending" happens to state return often, esp. those states in east coast. don't know why.
State Returns
It's not unusual for state returns to sit in "Pending" status for up to 5 days, sometimes even longer during peak filing times (the current record is 19 days). In the meantime, periodically check its status and visit TurboTax Community to find out if other filers in your state are experiencing the same problem.
my understand is that If you sent a payment when you filed, then you should wait until the return has been accepted or rejected. As long as the return was transmitted before the deadline, it will be considered to have been filed and paid on time, even if it isn't accepted and debited until afterwards. just like postmark.for detail info, please refer to:
