3D printer Relativity Space is expanding, with giant new facility to build reusable rockets
- 3D-printing specialist Relativity Space is building a second rocket factory in Long Beach, California, where the company will move its headquarters.
- At more than 1 million square feet, the former Boeing C-17 aircraft manufacturing plan “is an absolutely monstrous building,” Relativity CEO Tim Ellis told CNBC.
- The new HQ will have room for more than 2,000 employees, a metals laboratory, a machine shop, “dozens” of the company’s 3D-printer bays and a mission control center.
