My friend\'s daughter Shirley is an active member of the March of Dimes Chain Reaction in Gainesville, and she works very hard to raise money to save those premature babies (see attached file). Dear Friends:
My name is Shirley Ai, and I am the daughter of Can Zhong and Chunrong Ai. I am currently enrolled as a sophomore in the International Baccalaureate program at Eastside High School. I am also an active member of the March of Dimes Chain Reaction in Gainesville, Florida. Every year, we participate in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica, and are proud to be able to raise one of the highest amounts of money to help this organization. We work to save babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. This year, our total goal is to reach $80,000, and my personal goal is to raise at least $2,000. I would be extremely grateful for any amount of contribution to help us reach this goal. Every baby deserves to be born healthy, and every mother deserves her full forty weeks.
Can you imagine breathing through a tiny coffee straw for even a couple of minutes? Or how about having arms and legs so small that an ordinary ring would be able to slide all the way up them? These are just a couple of the complications a premature baby must struggle with in their fight towards survival. 1 in 8 babies is born premature, and sadly this number is increasing every year. Just last year, almost 5,000 babies were lost due to premature birth. Too many babies are born just to find themselves unable to even breathe on their own, not to mention that the lifetime medical costs for one premature baby is estimated to be about $500,000. Please, help us in our cause to save these babies. They all deserve a chance at life.
