Title: Better Days Artist: Goo Goo Dolls
And you ask me what I want this year And I try to make this kind and clear Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings And desire and love and empty things Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days So take these words And sing out loud Cuz everyone is forgiven now Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again And it's someplace simple where we could live And something only you can give And thats faith and trust and peace while we're alive And the one poor child that saved this world And there's 10 million more who probably could If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them So take these words And sing out loud Cuz everyone is forgiven now Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again I wish everyone was loved tonight And somehow stop this endless fight Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days So take these words And sing out loud Cuz everyone is forgiven now Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again Cuz tonight's the night the world begins again

Better Days (song) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Better Days is a song by the Goo Goo Dolls released in the fall of 2005 as the first single off the album, Let Love In. The song has reached as high as number 36 on the US Hot 100 charts. The songs also rose up to #3 on the Adult Contemporary charts. The song was written by John Rzeznik about a materialistic girl he was seeing at the time. During the time that Katrina had been televised, ABC and by CNN used it as their theme for the Katrina coverage. The song was featured on the pilot episode of CBS' 2006 TV series, Jericho. The song also featured as the theme of WWE Tribute to the Troops 2006, a special broadcast of WWE Raw which aired on Christmas Night 2006. During a special "After the Storms" episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition the Goo Goo Dolls performed this song for the residents of Sabine Pass, TX, which was hit by Hurricane Rita in September 2005. Canadian journalist and politician Michael Ignatieff used an altered version of the song for his campaign video at the Liberal Party of Canada's 2006 Leadership Convention. The version of the song featured in his video was comprised of some altered lyrics, and contained a verse in French. [1] When speaking at the convention, Ignatieff began his speech by saying "Tonight is the night the Liberal party begins again", mimicking a lyric from Better Days. [2] "Better Days" was recently chosen as the theme song for the Buffalo Sabres 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs run. Retrieved from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Days_(song)
