我对Kobe成为今年MVP的看法
首先我们来定义一下MVP
MVP literally defined as the “Most Valuable Player” in the team and that team would suffer the greatest if the player is absent. This might have been per se the politically correct definition of the MVP. Nevertheless, it has also been made extremely clear that the MVP must go to a player on a winning team if we still remember the Bryant VS Nash case in the previous years.
There are also two important factors that would go with the awarding of the MVP: teammates of the Player and the Expectation of the result.
For instance, the player who plays with the weakest supporting cast would get more credit than the player with more star-powered teammates assuming all other factors are equal. And this goes the same with the Expectation factor, in which the player whose team’s success comes as a surprise would definitely take the honor than the one is expected to win.
Aside all these, we would compare Chris Paul versus Kobe Bryant.
Needless to say Chris Paul is a strong candidate for this year’s MVP based on his merit for the “Hornets”. However, Chris Paul does have more All-Star help from his teammates David West and Tyson Chandler and others. On the other hand, Kobe has a weaker cast in supporting him. Moreover, Lakers’ success this year has been an unexpected turnout much like Chris Paul’s Hornets. In addition, Kobe’s successfully play through an injury has also gained a lot of respect from the others. Kobe has also formed close bonds to his teammates and becomes a strong leader for the Lakers.
In my opinion, I think Kobe Bryant did his thing and he definitely deserves the MVP of the year. Without Kobe, Lakers would be nothing this year.
