I was very excited the night I arrived in New York and looked at the beautiful and famous city from the window of the airplane. It looks like many pearls sparking on the surface of sea. At the same time, I was also thinking of the energy crisis. With rising consumption of energy, saving energy has been an important task for every country.
The U.S. government has taken some measures to save energy. The energy-saving products which are encouraged by government are favored by most customers and also have less tax than ordinary ones. Daylight Saving Time is another measure that saves not only time but also energy. So people can make use of sunlight in stead of other kinds of energy which can’t be reused like oil, gas and coal. In America, two-third of oil consumption is for cars. So the cars using new energy have been encouraged to be researched. The car with more than one passenger is permitted to drive in the fast lane.
In some places, however, the waste of energy still exists. For instance, computers are never turned off. All kinds of one-time products are largely used for convenience and the street lamps are so bright that the night is like the day.
In my opinion, every resident as well as governments are responsible to participate in the action of saving energy.
