David Oistrakh, world class violinest plays this concerto, one of the best if not the best. Music in his play is like river flows down.
Mistislav is also the finest cello player. I think he is one notch better than Yo-yo Ma.
He came to my town for a retirement concerto. We went to listen. It was good but local symphony screwed up pretty bad. When I heard his pass-away in Moscow, my heart sank.
