It's an option: take any possible action to rescue the animals, and save our Earth. It seems "none of your bussiness" now, but it would be it for your next, or next next generations, if they are not lucky enough. It's the bussiness of your gene, if you care about it.
The good thing is: there are always people doing something meaningful to this world.
