This year's
top 500 list -- the World's top 500 fast computers -- is finally dominated by the US -- Jap's NEC Earth-Simulator, which were #1 in the list for the past 5 years, has slipped out of top 10.
The top Chinese system on the list is #57. I recalled two years ago there were a Chinese system getting into top 20?
Interestingly, #6 is built by cluster of Dell's PowerEdge -- off-the-shell stuffs?
Remember Cray, the grand daddy of supercomputer? Now clinch to #10 (#2 is built by Cray company using Opteron chip). IBM is very prominent on the top 10.
To get in top 100, you need to have at least 6.6 Tflop/s.
