2 pieces of LDK news, and my reading,

1, SEC inquiry and LDK hired 2 law firms, one handling lawsuit one handling "independent audit", and one more big-4 firm (besides of KPMG presumably),
glass can be half empty or half full. Negative implication obviously comes from the fact that SEC is now involved. The positive side would be that there seems no more shoes to drop than the "inventory" issues reported. The booking of scape silicon would be more or less based some subjective measure anyway, so if there is anything, it would be on quantitative level, not quality level, for example, as if there were dispute in terms of booking of sales or cash flow. All in all, one can see that the end of the endless sentimental headlines is near. That, in self, is often a help for a stock in trouble.
which probably explains why stock price didn't fall too heavily, like 5 or 8 points which was so common with LDK in its fall,

2, behind LDK, pride and prosperity of a million
read the following carefully,

it's now obvious how much support that LDK has within the local gov't, up till the province level. The new LDK campus is reported at 13,000 acres. Almost obvious now that most of the basic construction cost is probably shouldered by the local gov't.
one has to wonder how far that $1B can stretch in JiangXi, China vs. in Michigan or Missouri. That $1B is probably mostly spend on equipment and high-end engineering installation that requires expertise of FLR etc.
my gut feeling is that when everything is done as planned, LDK will own more and better equipments than WFR, which has book value of $1.6B according to yahoo finance. When in full production, LDK will produce 15,000 tone of ps while WFR will be at the level of 8000 to 1000, by 2009.
so in a sense, LDK is really a proxy, representing wit and will of literally a million people in an un-heard-of city of XingYu, JiangXi, China, who has unmoving focus in cutting a slice, and a sizable one, in the center stage of world economy.
imho, it's not wise to bet against it, at least not for long term,
