The Conditions of Being Reborn and Entering the Eternal Life
The article of “Faith Without Deeds is Dead, One Must Have Good Deeds after Being Justified Through Faith” is written under the urge of the Holy Spirit, and is required to be posted together with the article of “Righteousness Through Faith is to Lift Up the Righteousness of God”. It is because the words of God are complete and absolutely have no contradiction. But the understandings of men might have the partiality.
However, there are some who are daring to suggest that the Book of James as the heresy; such people deserve to be cursed! Bold and arrogant, these people are not afraid to slander the Bible and the servant selected by LORD. Furthermore, the verses that have been cited are not only from the Book of James, but also from the letters of Paul, Peter and John, and also the direct teachings of LORD Jesus Christ.
The reason that they can not understand and accept these verses in the Bible, is because they confuse the principles, conditions and teachings of being reborn with those of entering the eternal life; therefore, they think that the verses are contradictory. This is the most fundamental problem and needs to be made clear.
Sins of man:
In the beginning, God created this world through the Spirit and water in six days, and also created man in His image. Everything is good. However, the forefather listened to the temptation of the devil, disobeyed the strict command of God, misused the freewill to be against God, ate the forbidden fruit and brought the original sin into the mankind. Sins separate men from God. Men are born in sins, live in sins, and die in sins. No one is righteous and all fall short of the glory of God.
Salvation from God:
Because of the great love and mercy of God, He granted the salvation to men. When the time had fully come, God sent His Son -- Lord Jesus Christ who has no sin to be the sin offering, and who is the head of the new Mankind, so that all who believe in the Name of LORD Jesus Christ will be reborn, reconcile to God and get the chance to enter the eternal life. The salvation from Christ is to save people from the original sin of disobeying God and all kinds of sins produced by it to follow the selfish desires and sinful nature. As long as one is willing to confess sins and repent, with the heart he believes and with the mouth he confesses the holy Name of LORD Jesus Christ, God will give him the chance to be reborn and saved freely, again through the water and the Spirit. The great love and grace of God has been revealed from it. After the rebirth, God want us to live in accordance with the Holy Spirit, to be holy and be one in Jesus Christ, and to share in His divine nature, so that we may enter His rest.
The salvation from God is to let us become a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and children of light. The will of God for us is to be one in LORD Jesus Christ.
1. The conditions of being reborn:
The rebirth is completely the grace given by God, and is given freely. As long as one is willing to confess sins and repent, with the heart he believes and with the mouth he confesses the holy Name of LORD Jesus Christ, he will be reborn.
Regarding the rebirth:
(1) One is justified through faith only.
All the sins in the past are forgiven. Even the murderer can be reborn in the same way and be save.
Therefore, in the verses of the Bible, the truth of righteousness through faith is emphasized. One absolutely is not justified by observing the law and good deeds. This is to make it clear that the condition of the rebirth is completely from the grace of God.
Therefore, LORD Jesus Christ says that: “For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” How to understand these words? It is because all the worldly people have sinned. Even though they have observed the law, they still have many hidden sins. Who are called by God are those who are willing to confess their sins.
(2) Do not doubt:
Regarding the grace of rebirth that is given freely, one should not doubt. When some see others are filled up with the Holy Spirit, while they feel nothing, they will doubt: whether are they themselves reborn or not? Whether did they receive the new life brought by the Holy Spirit or not? One must not doubt on this. The answer is yes to all the Christians who believe and are baptized in the name of LORD Jesus Christ.
However, if someone extents the condition of the rebirth at his own will, think of being reborn as entering the eternal life, think that after rebirth, no matter what kind of sins, will all be forgiven, and think that he would never lose the chance to enter the eternal life -- “once saved, always saved”, that is totally wrong, and will do harms to others and oneself. Such people can’t understand other verses in the Bible, and even come to a false conclusion that there are contradictions in the verses.
2. The conditions of entering the eternal life:
The salvation of God is to let people be away from sins and be holy, for without holiness, no one can see LORD. God is absolutely righteous and completely holy, and is the only good One. God does not tolerate sins. The will of God to our new mankind is to be one in Jesus Christ.
In the article of “Faith Without Deeds is Dead, One Must Have Good Deeds after Being Justified Through Faith”, the following points are illustrated with the verses in the Bible:
(1) We Christians will also be judged.
(2) If we do not stand firm in the faith and persevere in doing what is good and righteous, we might not take hold of the eternal life.
(3) The judgment is based on our deeds. Those who do what is righteous will enter the eternal life; the evil doers will enter the eternal punishment.
A wrong saying is that the Christians will not be judged, only need to turn in the work, and there is only the difference in rewards. This is absolutely wrong. It has been made very clear in the verses of the Bible; and one should not have such a misunderstanding. For example: As to those who take hold of the faith, do the will of God, do what is good and righteous, lead others to LORD, and overcome: they will enter the eternal life, enter the kingdom of heaven, have the right to eat the fruit of life, and receive the crown of life; and will not be hurt at all by the second death and so on. However, as to those evil doers: they will receive the eternal punishment and eternal fire; as to those who do not work to bear fruit and do not bear good fruit: they will be thrown into the darkness, and will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
“Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Mat 7:21)
(1) Can we live completely without sins?
To become a saint, our fight against sins will not end until the death of the body of flesh.
(2) How about our sins after the rebirth?
We must make every effort to be holy. Regarding what sin will be forgiven, and what sin will not, the authority is completely in God.
(3) How can we take hold of the eternal life?
All the answers have been written clearly in the Bible. (All the messages that God want us to know have been written in the Bible already, which does not need to add or reduce a word, and does not need to be corrected or renewed.) In the New Testament, LORD Jesus Christ gives the answers from every respects regarding who can and who can not enter the kingdom of Heaven. All the disciples' letters further address it under the guidance of Holy Spirit. To make every effort to be one in Christ, is the word of eternal life.
We believers should trust in and rely on LORD completely, live in accordance with the Holy Spirit, and obey all the laws, commands, teachings and will of God given in the Bible; we should take hold of our faith in God; we should show our faith on the good deeds, by relying on Christ, doing what is good and righteous, leading others to LORD, and giving all the praises to God; we should bring our body into subjection, get rid of the selfish and evil desires together with the pride of the old self, and carry our own cross to follow LORD; and we should follow the example of LORD Jesus Christ, and have the same faith, take the same baptism, have the same Spirit, have the same mind and carry out the same mission, and be one in LORD Jesus Christ.
We should take hold of the faith firmly without being shaken, rejoice in God only and always, take LORD as all of our strength and rely on Him completely, and obey the laws, commands and will of God. Taking up the cross and following LORD Jesus Christ closely, to be one in Christ, we will be able to enter God’s rest.
This message is written and enlightened under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. All thanks, praises, and glories be to God!
