My son bought the Green Day CD a couple of years ago and played at home nearly everyday. I never really liked it until one day I took my little daughter to a sports good shop, and soon after we went in, the "Wake me up ..." came up, and my daughter yelled: "that's my brother's song!".

At that moment, I found out the song really touched my heart: the mood of the song is so sad, but the music is unbelievable. I loaded it onto my iPod and played on my car virtually everyday when I drove to/from work. Really felt in love it with.

Green Day的前身是由 1988 年 Billie Joe Armstrong 与儿时玩伴 Mike Dirnt 联手组建的 Sweet Children 乐队，1989 年当鼓手 Al Sobrante 加入后正式更名为 Green Day。Billie 身兼吉他手和歌手， Mike 是贝司手。 但在乐队发行首张专辑之后，乐队遭遇了人员动荡，Tre Cool 代替了 Al Sobrant 的位置，自此，乐队阵容稳定下来。

Green Day 被认为是美国流行乐坛朋克复兴时期的先锋， 成为了美国朋克复兴乐队中最主要的代表之一， 影响了后来一系列的流行朋克乐队。

在 1994 年涅槃王朝 (Nirvana) 崩塌之后， 朋克音乐与另类摇滚乐成为乐坛主流。自此， Green Day 以不可思议的速度窜红。乐队在加盟 Reprise 公司后发行的首张专辑《 Dookie》 风靡全美， 其中的三支单曲 Longview，Basket Case和When I Come Around 轮流统治现代摇滚单曲榜冠军累计十多周之久。这张专辑全球销量超过千万张， 并赢得了第37届格莱美奖最佳另类音乐表演奖。 Green Day 在经过离上一张专辑4年的时间后，Wake Me Up When September Ends 就是出自《American Idiot》这张专辑。 （摘自网络）

I really enjoyed the songs that you posted here. The carefully selected pictures/background are so refreshing. Thank you so much!

One other song that I like a lot is The Green Day's "Wake me up when September ends". I'll see if I can post it here without running into copy-right issue.
